About Us

Island View Resort is a truly American experience. Whether you are a first-time guest or you have stayed with us before you are sure to be amazed. Island View Resort has been our family business for over 90 years and about 90% of our guests return almost every year. Our family atmosphere is contagious. We conveniently overlook the north shore of Lake Superior. We are located 12 miles from Duluth and within "day trips" of all the State Parks and visiting sites along the north shore of Lake Superior and the Boundary Waters of northern Minnesota. Some of our guests come to Island View Resort just to relax. You can sit on the deck and have some cheese and crackers and watch the ore boats pass by or just read a book. Maybe you want to walk down to one of the best agate beaches on the north shore of Lake Superior or you might want to spend some time at our firepit overlooking Lake Superior and the gorgeous night skies.
